Title: [SOLVED] Cata/MoP content patch 3.3.5 without encryption?
Post by: Joxus on August 24, 2014, 08:54:10 pm
I've found quite a lot of patches with the content, but like the title says they are all encrypted and do not contain a listfile. If anyone has a patch lying around can be modified I would really appreciate it.

All Cataclysm/Mists of Pandaria MPQS can be read or modified easily. What program are you using?

I'm using Ladik's MPQEditor, but the MPQ's from repack releases etc are the ones that are encrypted. I was using WMV for the MoP client but all those models were individually extracted and I thought it would be a giant hassle to make a patch like that. I just used the MPQ editor on the MoP client and you are totally right it's easy to modify. :D

But if I for instance extract all the creature models and put it in an MPQ including the m2, skin and anim files would they work then? Or do I also have to convert them to WOTLK and edit the DBC files?

Okay I just tried it out and didn't work. I extracted the creature models, used CatatoLKM2 converter, changed the extensions back, packed it in a patch with a folder named creature and folders in there with the model stuff. The DBC's from the repack I downloaded are editable so that's no problem, and those DBC's have the data for pretty much all the creature models (since all the models work if I use the encrypted patch).

All the releases/tutorials of AnthonysToolbox are gone and that's pretty much the only tutorial I keep finding so I'm probably missing a few steps?
