[QUESTION] How to determine the location for the land?
« on: June 28, 2011, 05:37:24 pm »
Hey,

As you've probably seen, I'm pretty new to this community and to map editing/creating.
The question is, how do I determine the location for the land I've created / I'm creating?

I'm just asking because when I'm in-game and try to teleport to the map, I just get teleported to nowhere.

Thanks.

In noggit you can see the server cords in the status bar on the bottom.

I know that but how can I make the map to show on the map, and for example connect it to other maps like Tirisfal Glades?
And I noticed that my map name is Duskwood: The Cematary... It's strange. And when I got finally teleported to map it's quite "dark" and it's night there. Also the map was ruptured (there was holes and it was ugly and some textures were missing. And IF I make an island, do I have to add water manually to it?

And if I make a city, how do I do it to the map (I mean that do I just start making it to there or is there some kind of trick I have to use?)

Thanks.

You meen the name shown in the right upper corner?
That is handeld by the AreaID on the ADT and a entry in Ther MapArea.dbc.

First creat a new Area and suparea if needed on the Map you add teh ADTs.
You can paint the AreaID with the latest Noggit Beta and the AreaID painter included.
Its the Map icon in the toolbar.

No the Beta 120 Version you can get if you are beta tester. Just join the group and download it.
There are also some other bugx ficed like the model disaperance. You must no longer use taliis to fix this. Adn many oterh stuff. Just read the different logs in the version posts to see what is new.
We also will release the version soon.
