Title: Locating amount of ADTS a WMO is on
Post by: Gurluas on July 04, 2013, 11:46:17 pm
Is there anyway to locate which ADTs a wmo is on?, I am trying to port the Cataclysm Stormwind to 3.3.5, and the standard Stormwind keeps appearing no matter how many times I delete it or edit ADTs around it.

Easiest way: save all adts one tile behind you can see stormwind on. To detect where it is stored, open the adts on any editor showing text, search for the wmo file name. Of it shows up, that ADT contains it.

Painting the ground is not needed.
Besides Schlumpfs method (will work for sure i think)  you can just delete storwind and save every adt sw was on via menu> save current. Worked for me

Painting the ground is unfortunately necessary. The Cata zones are using Big Alpha.
So in the normal map it will look corrupted and garbled, unless you retexture the whole thing with Noggit. I wish we had a Big Alpha - Non-Big Alpha ADT converter.

Ok i didnt know that. But he ports over to 335 so it seems for me that this is not needed.

Indeed, but I am porting the Cata Stormwind in the Azeroth map to the Non-Cata Azeroth map.
The Cata Azeroth map uses Big alpha texturing, the Non-Cata doesn't.

Noggit cannot edit Big Alpha, and there is no converter, forcing me to re-texture it.

i don't see how that's relevant if we're talking about placing a cata wmo in a 3.3.5 map

to me though the best way to do it is to simply replace the old SW model with the cata one. no deleting, just model swap

The Cata SW is about 4-5 models, I.E, SW_Tradedistrict, SW_Oldtown Sw_Keep etc.
The Pre-Cata one is simply one big fat Stormwind.

Also I am porting the ADT as well, as I need the terrain too.
