Hello all
First of al im not the best in english but im giving my best to make it understandable ^^
Im now working for some Months on an Projekt of an new Region. Now im having my next problem with "water" ... after the holes sometimes (i fix them with talis heighmap) now i have problems to construkt rivers with diffrent heigh.
I tried to find some programms to make it but found nothing so i used the Heigmap of the adt's from Talis and used diffent greyskales to make the diffrent heighs...but it just worked 50%
I tried much programs like Adobe Photoshop but all have little steps in theyre colors so that i bekame the same problem everywhere... its minimal nearlie not to see on the images but in Noggit / ingame there this stupid steps in the water :(
Like on this image... .->

So i hope someone did have an answer how to make it that it looks good :) ?

Some tool actually can edit water like this? This is amazing. Never knew of it.
Things like this are always a problem when using heightmaps. I sadly can't really help you there. you may want to try values being closer together or removing any compression in the file or increasing color depth.

I think this is more an problem of taliis.
Perhaps it dont interpolate or it work with an 8 bit image to import export. Then the steps between the colors could be to height.
ASk tigu about this. If then he could help you.

It's a problem of the tool.
http://pastebin.com/7wCZcdvk (http://pastebin.com/7wCZcdvk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) this does not look like well conceived code or anything...

what a pitty the steps are not smaller and that it affects the water uniformly. If it could affect even corners of a quad then it would be easier to make a maelstrom like blizz did...
-
Hmm hey tigu. Dont you just want to go on with water in noggit.
If you have some hours left ;)
