Title: [QUESTION] [BAD THREAD] Noggit help.
Post by: Justinn on November 22, 2012, 06:07:23 am
Hello, I am extremely confused, and I am new at this.

I am using NoggitSDL1.2 and I keep trying to launch noggit, but it crashes right away.
I don't know what I can do, and I tried using a repack, and it came up, but the tabs had nothing there.  Am I doing something wrong?

Is " Eternal Cata" any reference to the world of warcraft version ?

Er.  It might be trying to go to my cata version, instead of my 3.3.5.
Edit; I moved the file apart from each other and no work.  Is there a way to change this?

It crashes right when I open it.
I moved it to My computer, and program files to completely seperate my 4.0.6 and my 3.3.5
My noggit.conf file -

Code: [Select]
#This is a config file template. To use it rename into noggit.conf and set your options
#Edit this to your WoWFile!!!
Path = D:WoW 3.3.5

#Edit this to your Project-Directory and uncomment if you want to use it!
ProjectPath = E:project01

#Set this to the file where you will import models from (the model viewer log for example :) )
#ImportFile  = Path to Model Viewer log file

#The far clipping value. Set to 2048, 3072, 4096 etc. for a further look. Higher values need more 3d power.
#1024 is the standard value and will be taken if you do not set this value.
FarZ=2048

I have.  I'm not a computer person and I don't get it.  That is why I made the thread.

Incomplete logs are useless as the windows version is broken in backtracks since two years.

C:UsersOwnerDownloadsDivinity-X
does not really seem like your WoW directory. You may want to rename your config file from noggit.conf.template to noggit.conf.
Title: Re: [QUESTION] [BAD THREAD] Noggit help.
Post by: Justinn on November 23, 2012, 10:54:04 am
That's the thing.  I've renamed it to noggit.conf and renamed that 'Divinity-x' folder from Eternal-WoW.  Divinity-X is one of my 4.0.6 servers I play on, but it won't pick up my 3.3.5 that the noggit folder is located in.

Post by: schlumpf on November 23, 2012, 10:55:34 am
It will load only, if it is named correctly and there is no # in front of the path variable. So one of that is bad.

Post by: Justinn on November 23, 2012, 10:58:16 am
What can I do to change this so the path will go to my 3.3.5 file instead of my 4.0.6?  I edited my conf file to

#This is a config file template. To use it rename into noggit.conf and set your options
#Edit this to your WoWFile!!!
Path = D:WoW 3.3.5

#Edit this to your Project-Directory and uncomment if you want to use it!
ProjectPath = E:project01

As that file content looks right, I guess, the file name is wrong. As I said above.

The Divinity-X file?
Edit; Eternal-Cata is my 4.0.6 folder.  I have another 3.3.5 folder but noggit, for whatever reason, won't go to it.  How do I fix this?

No how the config file is named.

Fitting part from the manual:

If you download noggit there is a file called Noggit_template included. This is a template for the noggit config file. To use it just rename it to Noggit.conf. Then it will be loaded and you can set some settings for noggit within it. We ship it with this name so that your config files don't get overwritten during updates.

wiki/index.php5?title=Noggit_user_manual#The_config_file (http://modcraft.io/wiki/index.php5?title=Noggit_user_manual#The_config_file" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

As long you dont get the line

Using config file

inside the log file it dont use the file. In this case it

1. Don´t exist.
2. Is named wrong

Check this and if still dont work again logfile please. AND USE PASTBIN!!!

http://pastebin.com/ (http://pastebin.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Sure.  I'll go do this and come back to tell you yay, or nay.

Edit; Actually, uh.  Since I don't really understand these things, can one of you use teamviewer and help me?
Because the files seem right, but it still doesn't work.

not as long you dont post last log and config file.

http://pastebin.com/9mRaTRDE (http://pastebin.com/9mRaTRDE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

The problem is the path.  It won't go to my 3.3.5 file path and my 4.0.6 instead.  I don't know how to change it.

Yes and now whats the name of your config file?

Is it calles noggit.conf?

NOT
noggit.conf.txt
or
noggit.config
or
noggit_template.conf

or something else but not the first.

Check this again and then we will make a teamviewer session.
Noggit don´t find the config file what meens it is not inside the same dir as noggit or named wrong!

It is renamed noggit.conf
Am I suppose to move any files or keep them in the folder it came with?

It is NOT named like that.
http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/wind ... extensions (http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows-vista/Show-or-hide-file-name-extensions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Topic locked, as really no error in noggit and only a user error, which has been resolved by saying the solutino multiple times. Also, I love how this is a bad thread and was already tagged to by the user.
