Do the textures have an alpha layer?
Did you try any other render flags?
Are you sure you're editing the correct ones?
Is there a &8 flag in the header? Is that unknown offset at the end of the header set?

geez.. i had the very same problem with another model, but after several intents i never made the effect to work.

i asked for help in this post
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1956

In the end i gave up and deduced that the effect is only possible in cataclysm....
however, if you find out how to make the effect, please share it, and i will make you an statue

regards and good luck
