[QUESTION] Symmetrical model in MDLVIS
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:54:12 am »
Hello, I made the left side of my model in MLDVIS and since wow models are symmetrical I just want to copy left side on the right, is there some reverse command something?

Select the verticles and mirror them. Or select them, copy and paste them and turn them by the... y-axis, I think, by 180. Something like that works.

Hmm ok thank you , there is a mirror button? Havent seen that, and how do I copy by y-axis exactly, sorry I'm pretty noob at 3D.

And is there any difference if i copy paste from keyboard shortcuts and from toolbar, I think I saw someone say there is something.

Only if you want to make animated models. E.g. for weapons, I had good experience.

As they said, u shouldn't use MDLVIS for modelling but anyway here is how you do what you wanna do:

Select the parts you want to mirror and then click the middle button that i made yellow. You might also have to click the -1 to reverse the normals cause when you mirror vertices the normals also gets mirrored.

Thanks guys, yea as Dahaga said for editing I was only using it to edit satyr model and it was ok although only thing I cant zoom much when I'm doing the face, and its glitchy like when you're swapping textured non-texutered model keeps flashing so yea i saw its kinda gimped.

But I'm really happy with my model since I'm not that experienced at 3D I've managed to change everything I wanted mostly gonna put a screenshot when its done

Can someone good at wow modeling take my failed model plz and fix just a few things, it has holes between surfaces and texture sucks because i tried to do something in mdlvis lol if someone could PM me please  :?  8-)

EDIT: actually maybe you could write it down here if somebody knows, like I did what Phucko said mirrored it then i had trouble adjusting it on the axis, and when i got as closest as i could with manual adjusting I welded the  the center points and then it created like surfaces that arent connected??
