Title: [Fixed/Solved] Noggit.exe Launch Bug.
Post by: Grimvale on December 30, 2013, 06:54:43 pm
This may be an existing post, but thus far I have not seen one with this exact error. Could anyone tell me the cause of this?

I have located the .dll files it had proclaimed I was missing beforehand, and after being added this error began to appear.

I would considerably appreciate the help, thanks.

Edit: I found the issue. I needed to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=13523 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=13523" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Hope this helps anyone else who might have this issue. Once you download it, make sure that if you had installed a .dll online like I did, that you move it OUT of the noggit folder. Particularly, MSVSR100.dll

What the FAQ also told you :)

Noggit closes and displays the message that the MSVC****.dll is missing.

Install the Micrsoft Visual Studio Runtime.

Yeah, however if you looked at my picture, that wasn't the error I was receiving. I had another error entirely, so just in case people see that error on their screen they know something isn't right with their install of Visual Runtime, or that they have a corrupted .dll and should reinstall.

Every little thing helps, and I found this post-worthy. I apologize if it is not deemed appropriate on here, just trying to aid my fellow modders.

Why do you copy DLL in noggit folder?

You need toinstall the redistributableas written in the FAQ. Not just copy some randome DLLs in noggit folder.

Merely because that method DOES work for certain things. I had tested it with Noggit, and at the least it did read the .dll file. I'm not the only one who puts missing .dll files into the directory of certain softwares. Anyway, that error will come up if something goes wrong with your installation, OR you have installed a 32 bit software on a 64 bit computer, or vice versa. So it most definitely can still help.

Often you get faked dlls on this download sites and if you have luck it is a virus inside. So i would NOT recomend it.

i have no idea why some people think copying over different noggit installs is a good idea...
some also just swap the exe....
(btw: its not in anycase! create new, clean folders!)
