It started out as a practice with modding tools, but later I have decided to continue the development in my spare time. It is still heavily WIP.
This is my vision of Tanaris Desert in the End Time timeline. I loved the concept of time traveling, and seeing the world destroyed was my inspiration for this work. However, I have decided to provide more details to the world's situation in the Hour of Twilight aftermath.
The screens depict the destroyed stronghold of Haven, which was built very shortly after the final Cataclysm hit. Since the lifeforms were able to live under the harsh conditions of the world, as exampled on the adventurers, so it's possible that some leftovers of the mortal races could do it too. Sadly they were quickly wiped out by the Old God loyal forces such as twilight dragons, elementals and local silithid and Qiraji.
Screens are done in Noggit though, since I don't have an emulator to test the map ingame. Also it's obviously unfinished.

I am going to update the thread as the work progresses.

Are u making thoose for a prodject or just for fun ? :)
-
It's for fun. Maybe I will include it in a project, of course if I decide to do something and become more experienced ;)
-
Maby i can help u :) i can build stuff to the Original world and textureswap stuff when it comes out :p
-
I prefer to do it myself, anyway it's a good way to learn stuff. ;) I've already made more progress than it's seen at the screens, as I do some building everyday ;p
Also, I have swapped all the textures to more bleak-like.
This is the exact same textureset: http://www.wowpedia.org/File:Bronze_Dra ... me.jpg?c=1 (http://www.wowpedia.org/File:Bronze_Dragonshrine_End_Time.jpg?c=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
I haven't decided on the skybox, though. But I think I will place a different one, the original Endtime one isn't in 3.3.5 anyway.
But thanks ;p
PS: I will need to convert some Cataclysm M2's, since I need to place some Twilight's Hammer doodads here. (that's because they captured the ruins).
-
ahh ok thats nice im playing retail so i have done those dungeons even if i do PVP
-
Small progress.
Next screens will feature more details. Also I have removed the road already, since it's a desert and it could be buried in sand quickly.
-
Was testing SDL Noggit, didn't do much really since last time. Added more ruined war machines and removed the roads, some minor doodad improvements.
-
I have a small question.
Since one of the boss areas is going to be Skywall towers hovering above the desert, what I need to do to implement them in 3.3.5?

If it's a WMO, it should work by just extracting it from the Cata MPQ to your custom MPQ. If it's a .M2 you'll will have to use a hexeditor.
-
They are WMOs. Also, I think that Noggit renders them incorrectly (last time I tested them was on rev 279 beta), but I don't have a way to check this ingame (need to compile an emulator and toy with maps) Will see later if this is fixed. I will try to upload screens as seen in-game too ;p

Screencap from Noggit.
The issue I am talking about is depicted here.
Since I can't test this ingame for now, I need to know if this is bug only in Noggit or this bug is present in game too.
Raw WMOs extracted from Cataclysm MPQ + textures. They only look like the textures have colored the WMO but not applied the actual texture. SOME of the textures are working properly, though.

This is most likely a problem with the rendering in Noggit for as far as I know.
Though, there is a chance they get a weird purple glow in wow, I have no clue how to fix this.

The project is abandoned for many months by now. I will not finish the map, since I figured out it won't make much sense afterall, I treated it more like a place to improve my skills in worldbuilding. So... this thread can be closed now.

Then think about to add it to maruum. There it is place for every build and it whould be waste of time and work if not ;)
-
Yeah, but it would be in need of major reconstructions, since this one is basically based off Tanaris, just altered in the style of End Time dungeon. I still have files on my PC's HDD, so I might pick it up sometime, but I am occupied with another project. If I can find some time to contribute to Maruum, I will notify the dev team.
