Title: [QUESTION] Broken Textures
Post by: Chris on April 30, 2015, 02:46:23 pm
Hey everyone.
I'm new to noggit so don't take me too hard.
I made these mountains in Noggit( in zone called QA_DVD) with a patch taken from Reznik or something like that to make the land bigger.
(Dwlded noggit from this site)

So:
Mountains in noggit

Vers 3.3.5a on my own server.
I'd like some help it's the 2nd time I get this :|. When I made an island , it had lines on it each 5 feet.
Sorry if my English is bad.
~Regards Chris

First I suggest to use a fresh generated clean map, but if you dont want to just turn off specular lighting ingame in the options. If it's still green then you have an error with that texture, wrong conversion, wrong path or something so try another texture.
About the lines that you mentioned i have experienced those in noggit sdl 1.2 too, but if you switch to paint mode 2 (ctrl+i) and paint with that the lines won't show up.

This error comes from badly made _s textures or the lack of them.

You need to place the DBFilesClient and the World/maps folder in the actual wow folder to see the map in noggit.

Follow especially this advice. Every texture has 2 versions in WotLK, one of them contains texture itself, one texture used for reflecting of light. The second one has that _s at its end. So, run noggit, select texture which is giving you trouble, press X and take a look at its name. Then try to look for that texture in WoW Model Viewer. You should find 2 such textures there. For instance:
Code: [Select]
li_grassc.blp
li_grassc_s.blp

If there is that _s one missing, texture will always be green like this ingame. You need to use another texture (more simple way) or to create that _s one. There was tutorial for creating spectacular maps somewhere here on forum.

This problem is generaly in the german-RPG-Server scene. We all click out at the ingame-Option "lighting reflextion". When you intrested of a better opinion, you have to hear about my pre-posters =)
