Title: [Classic] [QUESTION] Noggit for Vanilla WoW
Post by: Homiophat on April 18, 2016, 11:42:56 am
In the Internet i found some Post about a Noggit Version for WoW 1.12.x. But all Links in the Posts are ourdated and Offline. Can someone of you help me to find this Old Version of Noggit to use it for Vanilla?

First I have to tell you that editing with this version is realy painfull. Neraly no UI. You have to work with many shortcuts. And you have to get and use cryects CMD tools for this wow version also and need to learn many 010 edit stuff becaus this version of noggit do not support much function.

Working with noggit for 335a is not comparable with this version. And many features are missing. Also there are not realy many people out there still ahve expirience for this patch and tools. So you will have to go a hard way.

You can ask stan if he could give you version 0.6

viewtopic.php?f=99&t=3845 (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=3845" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Also perhaps stan could add it to resources. Perhaps not only noggit but all tools he is using so 1.12 people can play around with them.

I've attached  Noggit v0.6 for vanilla wow below. But i recommend you to use newest version and do everything on it (using LK client). When finished, just use saved ADT files in Your vanilla patch. Just have to remember using only doodads which are existing in vanilla. Water is also easy to restore. As Steff said everything is much easier when  newer version is used. Working on dedicated vanilla 0.6 version is very very troublesome, for example You can only move - rotate existing doodads, not addning or copy paste new ones, also forget abot moving adding WMO's.
 thats my way.

Stan84, can you elaborate on this method? I was trying to change some stuff in Azeroth using the WotLK files and then importing them into 1.12, but I crash on load (maybe only when I load that adt? I didn't test being somewhere else). I made some similar changes using the old noggit and it worked fine.

Have no idea why Your patch is crashing game, try SDL 1.2 version, newer versions saves MH2O chunk, could be this is the reason of crashes.

my method is simply:

1. im simply launching noggit SDL1.2 - best version for me
2. moddind ADT whatever i'd like to - then: saving all
3. creating patch from saved files
4. checking and having fun in game

At the end i'm restoring missing MCLQ water with copy_mclq.exe tool.
