Hello,
I'm pretty sure it has been asked before, but I can't find the topic.
I've made a mod for Human male to female.
It looks good, but the helmet is too big!
I've managed to change its position by moving the attachment #11.
But how do I change its size? Blender? 010 Editor? DBC?
-
mdlvis?
-
Thanks.
But I've got a crash when I try to open the Bloodelf .m2 file.
I use Windows 8.1 x64.
I've tried with compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3, same result...

Yes mine also prompts an error whenever i go to animations, +1 Phucko please answer this
But it works for static models and I'm guessing you just have to resize the helm geoset size maybe you dont even need to go to animations
EDIT: and Vesageough you know you have to change the M2 model before opening it in MDLVIS, it only opens burning crusade models by default for later versions it has to be modified, so anyway hope someone clears this up I would like to know details too
-
you dont need MDLVIS
just increase scale of bone in 010
-
Ok thanks, I'll look in 010 Editor.
There is no way to do this in Blender?
By the way, as I've updated M2Mod ans import/export plugin, I could give a try at importing more info in Blender, if necessary.

Export the .m2 as a .obj (through WOW Model Viewer would be easy). Resize in Blender. Convert from .obj to .m2. ??? Profit?
Takes like two minutes.

You mean, the helmet model or the player model?

The helmet, obviously. Isn't the title of the thread "change helmet size?

he wants the head geoset smaller only on human female model ∧∧
-
MDLVis is for <= BC.
-
ohh my .........
Just find Bone that is used as pivot to load Helmet model and change scale of that exact bone
beacuse that same method was used for Female models since shoulders are only 50% of theyr real scale on females one so just resize that bone for helmet in 010 structure of armature
-
[… snip -- schlumpf]
you acutally can change it in mdlvis or 010,

I use the template M2.5. I suppose it is in the .m2 file?
I go to bone 200 then to scaling, but when I go to Values, it is empty.
Am I in the good spot?

@Ohai
MDLVIS for this ? wtf ?
1. you cant know what version of wow is he editing and MDLVIs works only with " WOTLK < "
2. As i said MDLVIs is only " WOTLK < " FOR M2 he can edit MDL/MDX etc ... but wtf ? how you want to transfere that M2 model to one of them without damage ?
3. forget about MDLVIs for this its useless
@Vesageough ? how should i know ? in HuM is like 230 bones +/- .... M2I is similiar to you so use it to figure out which bone is used to lead Helmets and try to rescale it ?
i dont know exactly what you want to edit i just know the method this was never about exact numbers or PRO tools its developing here you need to THINK ... now go and fight
I'll be glad if you will return with positive results

hey why does it work in wotlk only, I mean I havent tried yet but that phuckos animated M2 tutorial OBJ-mdx/mdl....-M2 wouldnt work in anything higher, cata or WoD? what would be the problem?
and its really a shame whoever made mdlvis that he stopped developing it such an awsome tool opens M2s and WMOs and is so simple and easy, if it was up to date and had the same export plugins everyone could drop 90% of all the other wow modeling tools
-
Thanks, but I'm not asking for the exact bone, I know it is the bone 200, I've seen it in Blender.
I just wonder why scaling is empty in 010 Editor, because normally, as I saw on pxr:
ABlock Scaling An animationblock for scaling. Should be 3*floats.

Incorrect. He wants the helmet model to be sized correct for the female. You other people got off track from that.
I don't know why he continues to try your methods that haven't yet worked for him. Two minutes and he's done if he just resizes the bloody helm in Blender.
-
In fact, the problem occurs with every helmet / hat / glasses in game...
So, I will not resize each helmet one by one, yes?

It's editing one thing or another. Have you gotten their method to work yet? Either learn it or find another way. I told you one such route.
-
A third option is someone who know much about 010 Editor.
A forth is to find a way to just remove the helmet.
A fifth is to let it like that.

The size is on the helmet, I replied to you on ownedcore but I do not know if you check or not.
You will want to use: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=849 (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=849" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
We had to do this when we made our custom race, we had to get all the helmet m2, like 800 m2 files and resize them to fit head of new custom race. the Character M2 only has offset position of where helmet goes.
It is much work and not perfect method because some particle on helmets will be off placed but in end, it will be more beautiful :) , but you do not show picture of you new model. :( I want to see :)
It was when I was doing the anime character model swaps, The after was like:
But the original before resize, helmet model was too small and would go into cheeks of character face. (http://puu.sh/ghxHj.jpg)
Many we had to resize to make fit, some others we had to make smaller XD
-
Thanks a lot! Very interesting!
By the way, I was trying to do the opposite: scale up the female body to fit the helmet scale.
But I failed to do it in Blender.
So, I'll try to scale up the character model with Model resizer.
I now remember there is also such an option in M2modder.
Here is my actual mod: http://forums.darknestfantasyerotica.co ... post408326 (http://forums.darknestfantasyerotica.com/showthread.php?20735-Freeman-s-Male-to-Female-models&p=408326#post408326" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Where could I get your manga models?

Hm, I wish you best luck!! We were do for private server so we have no problem to give big patch with 800 helmet m2, but yeah you are do for live server model edit. I don't know if model resize will work properly :( . I hope it goes well.
Also we only test with WoTLK m2 and CataToLK m2's, I do not know if Master Eluo's tool will work for 6.1 format m2.

Very well done man! Good job. :)

I'm sorry about that, it should work now, Blame PhantomX, he made an edit/update to the web server and didn't tell me about it XD
If the captcha box doesn't show up, you may need to disable your adblocker to make it show.

Ok, resizing the character with M2modder works, but now, the weapons are misplaced...
But it looks better than giant helmet, I think we pay more attention to faces than to hands.
It is far from perfect, but it is much faster than editing all head gears! ;)
Thanks all for help, don't hesitate to suggest other ideas, if they do not take too much manual work to realize.
(I'm a developer, I hate doing repetitive tasks ;))
