Also I think the model is using the Ice Troll textures for some reason... I have tried to add my texture to the
IceTroll/Male Folder but when I go to the texture in game..... the game crashes.

i think you must add a texture to the model, you can use this tool http://www.file-upload.net/download-349 ... 2.rar.html (http://www.file-upload.net/download-3495824/M2Modder2.rar.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
for me not worked but you can try, cmdline version works better but i hasn't a link
now textures are numbered ( 0 1 2 etc) and you can modify textures on geosets using 2_0_iRenderflags and me:M2_0_iTextureblablabla

I used the tool but it didn't work...

I also added a line for the new texture in the charsections.dbc, still no luck.

is there something I'm missing or is there another way to go about doing this?

When I view it in wow model viewer it just shows the default Northrend Skeleton Model but not the model I made, and no error... but If I go into game I get this

Don't I have to do something to the charsections.dbc?
to add a texture to the character?

yes, you can copy&paste a row and edit it as you want, replacing old texture path with new one, on madx was an explain of colums but now it's offline

Ok I added the texture in the dbc, but how do I get the race to know that the texture I specified is the one I want it to use?..
also is there any type of tutorial for adding textures, in this way?

P.s. I tried editing a weapon in blender but I can't convert the M2i back to the M2... is there something wrong with weapon conversions?
Title: Re: Pandaren Finaly Working!!! but still need a little help
Post by: doresain on June 18, 2011, 01:59:46 pm
i think m2i needs bones and skeleton to convert back in m2 (i tried to save only a model without bones in m2i and it fails)
for now i try only characters and creature models!

So is there any type of tutorial for adding custom textures to a custom race?

adding (animated) textures with pym2
http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-of- ... layer.html (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/model-editing/tools-guides/306963-adding-animated-texture-layer.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
try it

O.k. I got the texture added, sorry just needed to do more research into the dbc files.
But for some reason M2Mod3 won't export m2i properly anymore. I have exported the m2i from the dwarf male or human male just by resizing them and the model does not change only the bones.
what am I doing wrong... I think it has to do with how I am exporting it but I don't know

try to resave it with pymodeleditor or any of m2 editors.

to scale mesh you must use edit mode, not object mode
i never try to export an edited model in m2i, i make all changes on the same m2i
if not work reload a working m2i and retry :D

[Update] I have shown the model how it looks in game, but when I log in I just get a wite texture with all the different armor options... how do I fix it so he appears correctly in game?

and please give me another option besides pymodel editor, as I can not use it

Ok that's weird, I can't open charvariations.dbc in taliis.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I don't even know if it is necessary to edit this...
I just don't know why it is that the server has no problem making the character and the display shows up perfectly fine in the character selection / creation screen but not in game...
any ideas?
I tried using dbcutil for the conversion to csv but I still have no idea what Im doing in the csv.
its mostly just 0's

I have tried messing around more with the dbcs I have but they seem to be correct.
is it possible that this is a database problem or a problem with my core?

all dbcs from my patches are in the server and I have set the display id in the playercreateinfo

Go to creaturemodeldata and copy the humanmale string and rename human to pandaren or smth(where your model is located)
Paste it in the end of file and give him unique id. then open displayinfo again copy human string. again paste it in the end of file/
1 column - unique id which goes to ChrRaces.dbc
2 column - id of pandaren creaturemodeldata string

or
give me chrraces, charmodeldata-display info (3 files)

We in Russia have a saying, "And the log once a year shot."
I mean, that must always be ready for anything, including to ensure that one day you broken the pandaren model. (and have a working copy) to recover from it a working version of the model.
--------
If the model does not work, try a 010 editor +. M2  skin templates. (they have to modcraft wiki)

O.k. so I still don't get why this is not working, it works perfectly for a friend who has the exact same client as me. and the same patches.
is it possible that my computer is blocking it somehow?
I can view the female pandaren but not the male which the male is the only one with textures.

Anyways, does anyone know why wow would stop responding when I select the male pandaren?
again it works for my friend but not for me.
sorry if this post is just getting annoying  :|

probably your client is corrupted, copy your friend's client on an HDD and try or try with a clean client
