So i found http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-o ... ature.html (http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-model-editing/wow-me-tools-guides/25067-guide-character-creature.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) but this is for 3.3.5 back when we had mywarcraft studios and had the right mpq. patch-enGB-2.mpq doesnt exist anymore. So how do people swap creature to character these days?

I can't do more than tell you that it still is there. Just open the mpqs and look.

no dbc files there.

There are. _every_ dbc file is in dbfilesclient/****/patch-****-*.mpq.

found it. but when i try and open it in dbc editor i get : could not load file. file format not recognized. I extracted the .dbc filr with mpq editor. And the extension does say .dbc

uhm so what exactly what am i doing with these programs? all i want to do is open the .dbc but dbc editor wont open them.

You did not extract the whole file but only a patch, which only contains changes relative to the previous MPQ. Open the mpqs in merged mode.

these programs change the dbcs to txt so its readable and I forgot you need Note++ to read it

As said: you're extracting partial files. open the mpqs in merged mode and you will get the actual file. alternatively, open the corresponding mpq in data/cache or data/****/cache.

ok got it working and did swap. now im getting this with the swap, (http://i.imgur.com/Eb78y7G.jpg)
and yes, i did check field six, correct skin is loaded. I also tried swapping orc to ogre, and nothing happened to the orc model ingame. I am getting same results as if i tried .mpq swapping.

EDIT: So i logged on ingame, and everything is working fine. all textures there and such. thank you guys for all the help.
I tried new dbc editor. My cat man still has no texture but i did get something with the orc.

So ... those anothers skins (red/blue/black even with face changes) are all in CharSection
And Armor ... Thats in
"CharStartOutfit.dbc"

Is there a guide to this? I dont wanna keep bothering you guys and bumping this thread when my problem is solved.

Sorry but i cant help you more
because im not much interested in server side so with starting set thing you have to ask someone else
but still try to Edit DB in Client and DB in server side may it works ..
