Title: WoW-Models in Blender
Post by: Sina on May 09, 2011, 05:02:36 pm
Once a time I looked for working with WoW-Models (inspired by the movie "Blind" on yt).
So, I found the FREE 3D-program "Blender" (something like GIMP for 3D-things) and after a loooong time this free script for Blender 2.49 to import a lot of WoW-Models:

...and as programs as usual, it had problems with my pc...

So, I post it to you, hope, somebody is able to use it and fullfill his dreams :)

You can get blender here (for the script you need the old version 2.49!):
http://www.blender.org/

Here you see, what it should be able to do:

As I know, 3DSMax isn't free, so I think it could help people who don't want/be able to spend money in their projects.

Greetings
Sina

P.S.: If someone is able to use it: write it to me :) perhaps you can help me, to run it on my pc.

I'm familiar with the program, it's quite easy to use. Sad thing is, the script only imports m2 models, it has no export function :(. Kind of you to share it though!

Not only m2, also adt and wmo.
But, yes, without export you may just use it for animation-films.

But you are able to export the files to 3ds and as I remember there was a program, changing 3ds to m2. Have to look again, if the program will work one time.

Just get a little error with pywin:
Quote
pywintypes.error: (3, 'GetShortPathName', 'Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden.' (the system can't find the given path)

Did not found solutions via Google.

EDIT: FUCK OFF I GOT IT! Love you guys! (didn't work for months and now... have to be your aura :D )
