Title: Autodesk 3ds max only program?
Post by: SwaGat27 on October 13, 2012, 01:13:11 am
Hey guys im brand new here. I have little to no experience with game design. Just made some zones in an outdated game engine (realmcrafter).

My question is, is 3ds max the only program that works for modding WoW models? Or can i model in say Blender and export them in the same format? Or even change the format in milshape?

OH and this would all be done as a hobby. Im not looking to make a new game, i really just love WoW and everything about it and i want to learn game design!

You only need some way to convert the files to a format that can be converted into m2.

If someone that did blender modeling and cenverting already a Tutorial would be very nice.

Create some smale thing in blender like a signe or a box with textures and get it ingame with collisions with all steps. Perhaps then more people will come up and creat custom stuff and we could open an model section to share this :)
